RE: SoCal Gas Line Mapping

In the wake of recent events regarding pipeline safety, SoCal has provided the following links to their public mapping system for high pressure distribution and transmission lines. The links are as follows:

http://socalgas.com/safety/pipelineMap.html  (English)

http://socalgas.com/sp/seguridad/pipelineMap.html  (Spanish)

In addition, they have included a brochure that is being sent out to their customers (starting 10/1/2010) located within 1/8 of a mile of their transmission pipelines.  This brochure is available on The Gas Company website at the following link:

http://www.socalgas.com/documents/safety/PipelineSafetyRes.pdf

It outlines the following:

1. The procedure a customer should follow before they dig. - including 811/Underground Service Alter (USA)

2. How to recognize a pipeline leak.

3. How to locate major pipelines near you.

4. Damage to a Pipeline or Meter.

5. Putting Safety First (outlines new testing methods)
