The Planning Division is responsible for providing
land use planning and community development services
to decision makers (Planning Commission and City Council),
development professionals, and the general public. These
responsibilities include processing of land use entitlement
applications (variances, zoning changes, conditional
use permits, annexations, lot line adjustments, planned
unit developments, land division maps and others), long-range
community planning (Kings River Corridor Specific Plan,
Southeast Industrial Specific Plan), General Plan maintenance
(general plan amendments and updates), zoning studies,
and provision of zoning and development information
(zoning and subdivision regulations, census data, population
changes). In addition the Planning Division provides
administrative planning services to the City Council,
Planning Commission and other City departments.
