I have been reviewing the by-laws and wanted to pass on some information to the all of the membership. ARTICLE H- PURPOSE The purpose of the Council shall be to:

  1. Assist artist and arts organizations through advocacy, education, and efforts to increase awareness of community policymakers and resources.
  2. Coordinate and disseminate information concerning all the arts.
  3. Sponsor and encourage cultural, educational, and creative activities.

A full set of by-laws are available to any member.


Having said all of the above, I am including a list of the Accomplishments of 2005.

  1. Developed a newsletter/website
  2. General membership meeting - Filipino Cultural Dance and Entertainment Group
  3. Kings River Discovery- Hosted rock painting for children
  4. Held three childrensÕ art workshops- Digital Photography, Quilting, Paper Mache
  5. Partnered with Kings River Quilting Guild to market their Quilt Show & Held Quilt Show in the Opera House Gallery
  6. Developed a Quilt Walk Brochure
  7. Held Fiesta Art Show
  8. Hosted six art shows in the Opera House Gallery


GOALS FOR 2006

  1. Expand newsletter- website - media
  2. Write grants for Promotion of the Arts
  3. Blossom Trail Gala Fund-raiser
  4. Reedley College ~ Annual Art Show
  5. General Membership Meeting
  6. Fiesta Art Show
  7. Host six art shows in the Opera House Gallery


In order the meet the goals for 2006, the board is asking for help from the members. We need board members for the 2006-2007 year. We need artists to participate We need sponsors Kings River Arts Council
