Hillcrest Tree Farm and Hillcrest & Wahtoke Railroad

The Hillcrest & Wahtoke Railroad is a live steam, 15 inch gauge, 5" scale, "Consolidation" locomotive, pulling 5" scale gondola cars hand made at Hillcrest! This engine is a one of a kind built by Ken Kukuk in Los Angeles. For train buffs, we also have a scale 1930's track inspection "speeder" a functional, scale hand car, and a World War I vintage park scale steam engine. Currently the train operates on weekends during the Blossom Trail Season (2002 Season is February 23 - March 17), Pumpkin Patch time (last 2 weekends in October), Christmas Season (opens Saturday after Thanksgiving) and for private parties. During the Blossom Trail Season, we also do "California Gold Rush" field trips for area 4th graders. Hillcrest Tree Farm is the oldest in the San Joaquin Valley and has been owned by Sean and Melissa Bautista since 1992.

During the Blossom Trail Season, the train will run every 15 minutes through the pines and blossoms every Saturday and Sunday, from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. Come and enjoy the beautiful picnic areas, gourmet coffees, snacks, lunch items, children's play area and nature walk. Admission is free and the train ride is $1.00. Enjoy the "Kings River Rails" train hobby store, specializing in Garden Scale Trains, train gift items, and lots of toys.

We're located 2 miles north of Reedley on Reed Avenue at Adams Avenue. If you are following the Blossom Trail map, we are one block west of Frankwood and Adams.
