The Senior Services Office has Reduced-Fee Licenses available for $6.95. You must meet one of the following restrictions.
- Be 65 years or older and receiving SSI. You must submit verification from Social Security or a copy of last year's reduced-fee license.
- Be an honorably discharged veteran with a service connected disability of 70% or more. Proof must be received from Veteran's Administration or a copy of last year's reduced-fee license.
- Be 65 years or older, and a resident of California with a total income of less than $866.40 for a single person or $1462.20 for a couple. You must submit income verification from Social Security or a copy of last year's reduced-fee license.
Sponsored by the Reedley Commission on Aging and Sierra View Homes. Infants ages 6 to 12 months old who are not yet walking are encouraged to participate in crawling races. Cash prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places in each event.

Meals taste so much better when you can share them in the company of others! Join us in the Phil Hudson senior room at the Community Center weekdays at 11:00 a.m. (except holidays) for a nutritious lunch and good time. This program is partially funded by the Fresno-Madera Area Agency on Aging. There is no charge for the meals if you are 60 or older; however donations are accepted (suggested donation is $1.50 per meal). Guests who are under the age of 60 are welcome to attend for $3.50 per meal. Reservations must be made by 11:00 a.m. the weekday before you plan to attend. Call 637-4207 for your reservation today. We also celebrate monthly birthdays and anniversaries with cake and have many other fun occasions.
The Senior Exercise class is held in the California Room at the Community Center. The class is geared to improve the circulation and muscle tone of seniors. Mon. and Wed. the class meets at 10:00a.m. If you arrive at 9:30 you can join the walkers. A free video class is offered on Friday during college vacations at 10:00 a.m.
The Tai Chi class held in the California Room at the Community Center every Friday from 9:00-10:00 a.m.. The class is geared to improve balance, circulation, and strength of seniors. This is a free class to local seniors.
Join us for Senior Luncheons. Call the Senior Center for dates. at noon at the Community Center. Each luncheon a provides a full meal, entertainment, door prizes, and a good time shared by one and all. HICAP
Do you have questions about supplemental health insurance? Are you are confused about choosing between Medicare and an HMO? A HICAP (Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program) volunteer may be able to assist you. This program is designed to assist seniors with filing claims, understanding coverage, and fighting denials of claims by both Medicare and any HMO. Finding services to meet the needs of seniors and their families can be very challenging. The Reedley Senior Services Office would like to help. Fresh fruits and vegetables are distributed to seniors every Wednesday by the volunteer Senior Gleaners. Distribution is done on the patio at the Reedley Community Center at 8:30 a.m. Donations are welcomed and new senior "gleaners" are too! You must be at least 55 years old to participate. The Senior Services office and the American Association of Retired Person (AARP) offer the Mature Drivers Class (50 years and over). If you have a certificate from a previous class, you may take the refresher course (4 hours). Otherwise, an 8 hour course is held over two days. AARP charges $15.00 for AARP members; $20 for non members for the classes. Upon completion of the class, a certificate will be issued which may qualify the senior for a reduced auto insurance premium. The classes are usually held two times a year. A monthly newsletter is published by the Senior Services Office and the Reedley Senior Commission, Inc.. Senior citizens may have their blood pressure and weight checked by volunteers on the first Wednesday of every month at 10:00 a.m. This free service is provided for seniors in the Foyer at the Reedley Community Center, provided by Golden Living Center staff. Equipment Loan Service
The Senior Services Office has a small loan equipment service. This service is for any senior who may need to borrow, for a short time, wheelchairs, walkers, portable potty chairs, and/or transfer bench shower chair. Pool Table
The Reedley Senior Services Office has a pool table for seniors to play. The pool table hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. If you are interested in playing, please give us a call or stop by the Senior Center! Computer Class
