Police Department - Operations → Animal Control
The Reedley Police Department's Animal Services Unit continues to strive for excellence in providing compassionate care for the domestic animals in Reedley. The Animal Services Unit continued their mission to control the spread of rabies within the City of Reedley through proactive patrol enforcement, pet licensing, stray and dead animal removal and animal quarantine. Although the City of Reedley does not maintain a full shelter, the police department partners with the Fresno County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) to provide adoption services for domestic animals. The main goal of this partnership is to adopt sheltered animals and circumvent the need to euthanize. In 2011, the Reedley Police Department responded to 1,462 animal complaint calls for service as compared to 1,395 in 2010. Of the 1,462 animal complaints 904 were handled by the Animal Control Officer as compared to the 839 handled in 2010.\
