Engineering Division

 

Overview

Engineering Division is responsible for the design, preparing cost estimates, construction inspection, and contract administration relating to streets, drainage systems and facilities, water systems, sewer systems; including the wastewater treatment plant. In addition this division conducts engineering and construction surveys, title and property researches and assists citizens and developers with information.

 

The Engineering Division is responsible for:

  • Insuring that public facilities are planned and construction meet present and projected community needs. Provide plan check and supervision of the Subdivision Engineering activity within the City Limits.
  • Manage the City’s Capital Improvement Program.

Other duties preformed by the Engineering Division involve updating the City's zoning map, street maps, utility plats, standard plans and specifications for design and construction.

Improvement Plan Checking 2% of the first $20,000; plus 1.5% of amount over $20,000
Construction Inspection of Public Improvements 4.5% of the first $10,000; plus 3% of amount over $10,000
